After having done an msconfig?

After reading another thread were someone was asking how to speed up the time it took for them to log on, I followed one of the pieces of advice which said to run msconfig and uncheck any boxes which you didn't want to run on start up.

I did this and unchecked a few boxes, all of which I'm quite sure I didn't need. However now when I log on it always says something about needing to restart the computer for changes to take place. It does give the option to exit without restart and if I do this it is ok and a lot of the programs that used to run on start up now no longer run, so that does seem to have worked.

But why does it always come up about the restart, can I stop it doing this and just start up without having to choose the exit without restart option every time?

when you restart the computer you get a message telling you that changes have been made to the startup, just put a tick in the do not show this again and click ok.
