Could someone please translate this Latin motto:

'Diligence spreads' would be a literal translation. I guess it means that a hard-working attitude on one employee's part is likely to be spread around his/her colleagues. So "Hard work is catching" might serve.

Steve, if you click http://www.civicheraldry.co.uk/wriding_ob.html and scroll down to Knottingley Urban District Council's entry, you'll see that there it is translated as "Progress through industry". Means much the same as my earlier effort, but sounds rather more impressive! Cheers
