having a good time

Do you like it when your partner gets drunk? Would you ever tell your partner how to behave? Are you a nagger? Now it really doesnt bother me when my partner gets drunk, I dont mind seeing him having fun. There is always at least 2 couples I know that will always get arguing at weddings because one has drunk too much and I always think 'just let them have a good time, they managed to look after themselves before they met you' Lastnight I went out and ended up going to the party my bloke was already at and as soon as I got in there people were coming up to me saying 'you might want to find him he's a bit drunk' And? When he did see me, he asked me to get him water as he knew himself he needed to stop drinking so I go him water and when I gave it to him some woman said 'oh you've been told' I told her 'actually he asked me to get it! he has got a brain of his own, I'm not his mother you know!! Really wound me up.

She even let me turn the lights on once!!
Seriously though, it's always good to see your OH enjoying themselves, and I have had no problem picking up p1ssed partners or carrying them home. I draw the line at holding back hair whilst their puking though!

why is that boxtops, do you ever get drunk? I would hate if he told me what to do. I mean obviously there is a limit and I wouldnt want him being gobby or fighting, but he usually just makes everyone laugh. I also hate when people say 'how do you put up with that' just want to say 'same way I put up with opinionated people like you' :-) He doesnt go out alot and it is nice just seeing him enjoyig himself.
TTG my best mate had a bloke like that who went out every weekend and got wasted. He'd get drawn on in pubs and often the next day he didnt know where he'd ended up the night before, she never nagged him just dumped him. But I mean people that dont go out that much and so a wedding or other social occasion is a chance for them to have fun.
4get, I'm no stick in the mud, but no, I hardly ever drink, I don't enjoy it. I have the odd glass of wine or a half of lager but only to be sociable. I don't mind anyone having a drink and having a happy time and enjoying themselves, but I don't like seeing anyone half cut. I don't want to sound prudish because I'm not, but I think it stems from having a father who could get through a crate of gin in a week and who died of cirrhosis of the liver, it has somewhat turned me the other way.
It's not really a concern with the current man hostage but no, I don't generally like seeing my boyfriend drunk or indeed anyone (including myself) drunk, I think they look and act like idiots.... Tipsy's fine but drunk is just plain dull in my opinon but that's just me. I wouldn't date someone who got drunk (not tipsy) everytime there was a part or special occasion.
If I thought my partner was acting out of context in a situation then yes, I would tell them and expect them to do the same to me.
I don't think I nag but the man hostage may have a differing opinion!

Im with boxtops there, Im sure there is nothing wrong with watching someone have a skinfull but like boxtops I grew up with an alcoholic father, as soon as I see a drunk I literally seeth. this is probably why I dont drink myself. Unfortunatly from seeing the effects of alcoholism as a child has made me this way.
I dont like my OH drunk -his mood and personaility changes.
I dont like it when I have had one over the 8 either as im a weepy drunk and I could kick my own asre in the morning.
I tell him how to behave -usually -youve had enough.
I am a terrible nagger -he brings the worst out in me..........in fact I wonder why im still with him reading back (He's really not all bad - I cant be easy to live with !!)

My OH is a Jekyll and Hyde when he drinks. He is banned from every pub in our village. He has alienated his children, most of his friends and even his sister who is a "saint".
I used to drink but haven't touched a drop for over 2 years now. He has lost his "drinking buddy". He becomes verbally vicious and is a horrible person while drinking. He has not drunk for 6 weeks now and life is happy and peaceful, even our daughter is getting on with him now. However, we are all waiting for the inevitable falling off of the wagon. Alcohol is poison.
