Out last night with the 'girls' for a meal and someone said
Cheap as chips about something or other, so it led to a conversation of just where these came from, I suggested chips were a cheap meal long ago?
Chip of the old block, perhaps a woodcutter?
there were loads last night , some very funny
bit of a long shot at this time in the morning, but do you have any we could 'analyze' ;-))

I know that one Tigger!

It goes back to ancient times when people believed in many gods. They used to rub food on wood to please the tree gods (or something like that)

Why do we say, "cheap at half the price"? Surely, that is self evident?
Pos summitto do with a coffin if you can touch it you are still alive .Not bad not right but sure there you go .
