It's always best to read the book before reading the study notes - the study notes are, by their very nature, a potted version of the book, and much detail is left out. Besides, your tutor will know if you just regurgitate stuff from notes without having read the book in its entirety.

Sorry kimzotic, I haven't read it. I just did a google advanced search for angela carter and the word Lyon. I tried reading one of her books once and gave up after the first chapter - reading War and Peace was a doddle in comparison with that stuff! You have my sympathy.
As far as other info is concerned, there were a few more sites giving links to that particular article, but apart from that there's not much else for Mr Lyon.
