Perhaps I am getting old but I really dont get this. It's a ruddy phone, I have had a mobile since 1990 and I can't remember getting worked up about any of the ones I have bought.
Not that I would ever buy Apple.
Can anyone who knows the reason for it explain to me why the euphoria?
If you would never buy an Apple you will never why people get worked up over it.
I love Apple but always wait for a couple of weeks before getting a new one so that the glitches can be worked out.
I am also no fool - its my money and if thats what I choose to spend it on it has nothing to do with you or anyone else!
Some people just like to show off - "I've got the latest xxx" and think that others think they are something special. Other people look at them and think "What a twit".
I also love Apple stuff but I agree there is a lot of hype and I certainly won't be in this queue.
When Apple/if ever sort out the battery life of their phones then I just might ...
In a couple of years time, these phones will be available for £15:00 a month, just like my iPhone 6 is now, and my contract finishes in February. I am quite happy with the 6, but if I can upgrade in 2 years time, and its not outrageous, I might very well do so.
But certainly not now, as to do so with 02 would cost me over £50 a month.
It is their money and they can spend it however they like.
This is no different than buying an expensive car that loses 10K the moment you drive it off the forecourt, or an Rolex.
Why do you feel you can tell other people how they should spend their own money ?
I spoke to someone I know today who is getting an X tomorrow and he said, and I kid yee not, that his old phone was still worth at least £200 out of the £700+ he paid! Yes they walk among us! I have an outrageously expensive Android for £130!
It happens with Samsung too though, it's not just an Apple thing.
$1000 for a phone, I'm afraid that is a fool and his money. And no Ilseay I am not telling you what to do just my opinion about it in general and asking why so I can understand. I note you have not told me why.
I've still got my S4 Mickey. Root it, remove the bloatware and the thing runs fine. £7.00 a month incl data.
"They aren't just phones though are they? Cameras, videos, internet, music, sat navs...etc etc " - yes and so are all the others starting from about £60! gawd help us!
It's entirely based on what you buy being fit for purpose.
If you live on your mobile, take pix, converse constantly, watch films etc etc, then this phone is probably good value.
If, like me, and probably YMB, you use your phone to chat occasionally, and that's about it, the it's the equivalent of buying a Ferrari to go to the shops once a week.
Different people have different uses for different things - so a waste of money to one is value for money to another.
