Comment on this ancient Indian proverb : “Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors ; we borrow it from our children.”

Heard something like that before. Is it an American Indian proverb?
It was not loaned to you by your children,we borrow it from our children.

Well it is just a nonsense.
It is neither given nor loaned. We're here, we use it to stay alive, we try to look after it so it remains ok.
SK, It makes sense if you read it properly.Far from nonsense.
deep, man..

SK
A more accurate quote would be
/// it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children ///
Sadly humans have not heeded the old proverbs /laws...we have severely damaged the earth, destroyed habitats and rendered species extinct...nd we continue to do so.....we really should have listened, we didn't and continue destroying.....
Still, can't blame us for the demise of the dinosaurs.
Indians and Pakistanis are indeed very wise.
Why?
Because they all want to leave their own country and come and live here.
Having no children I can assure folk they've not loaned me anything. So may as well trash the place before I'm off.
Douglas - The demise of the dinosaurs?
It was all down to white supremacy.
Really deep.
