Any consumer law experts here?

This evening after collecting my 1000th orange b&q bucket I decided to celebrate by visiting my local public house the badgers *** for a small beverage

Now I enjoy taking any liquid refreshment from an empty pot noodle container a tradition going back to when I got my index finger stuck while bleeding a radiator and the food carton along with the radiator water kept me alive until I was rescued

The bar person refused to serve my half shandy in the pot noodle container saying that it must be in a glass provided by them I however take the view that I am paying for the beverage itself and not the vessel in which it is served

Does anyone know legally where I stand on this matter?

Ps I wrote to Esther Ranzen on this matter and am awaiting a reply

Hi Bob. You can always decant the Shandy into your pot noodle pot yourself.
Hi pleased to meet you - I'd wait for Esther, she is the expert but until then a curly straw may be a good stopgap with the added bonus of being able to blow bubbles.
funnily enough, the Shandy Act of Edward III, 1330, specifies that pot noodle containers are forbidden as they're foreign but honest English buckets are okay. You have to say "fill'er up" in Norman French, though.
That’s Life.
i'd be surprised if you can get half a pint in a pot noodle container?

Then prepare to be surprised. When the correct amount of water is added, a pot noodle contains just over a half pint. The only reason i know that is because a guy i know recognised the market for serving people who turn up at his pub with empty pot noodle containers, wanting a half. He renamed his pub 'The Just A Half', did away with all his glasses and began collecting pot noodle containers from around the world in order to serve any customer who had simply wandered in out of curiosity. He was going to change the seating, too, to orange B&Q buckets, but he believed that would attract the wrong type of customer.
You had a sense of humour bypass, Danny?
Ken, probably.
Next time ask them to pour your beer into a prosthetic leg.
Seems to work for some ex soldiers
If your pot noodle container is not marked with a half pint measure, how will the bar person know they have pulled a half? They do not want to serve you more than a half and charge you for a half, or they will go out of business. If they serve you less than a half pint because you could then prosecute them.
With your condition, are you sure that alcohol is a good idea? You could buy some Irn Bru and drink it from a Smarties tube.
Hi Bob,
Maybe if you went to The Feathers instead, you would have more luck.
By the way, you'll wait for ever for an answer from Esther. She's far too busy cleaning her teeth.
08.42 ," I don't believe it" .....Danny Meldrew.
gromit raises a good point about the measure - so to the suggestion by Sharon....

//With your condition, are you sure that alcohol is a good idea? You could buy some Irn Bru and drink it from a Smarties tube.// IMO that's what Irn Bru tastes like - the Smarties tube - a drink that should be removed just like Marmite and its derivatives should be as well.
