Sky Broadband

I have just switched to Sky (go slow) Broadband and having problems.
When i try to go to hotmail it keeps saying 'cannot find server' does anyone know why this is?
is this a sky problem or a settings problem? as sky dont know?
does the broadband signal go from my pc through skys service then to the net?
Ps if your thinking about getting it be warned as i'm finding it the slowest broadband ever.
