pcos - complimentary therapies
3 Answers
Hi all, i was diagnosed with pcos over 3 years ago after no success in conceiving. i'm not overweight but do suffer from excess hair, acne, and i'm lucky if i have one period a year. i was offered clomid, but i like to try to avoid pill intervention if possible. i was wondering if anyone has tried complimentary therapies like reflexology to good effect, or could offer advice on the use of progesterone cream, or any other advice on aiding fertility. thanks

I had to wait years for an appointment on the NHS, private consultations cost around 30.
There was a website that I used to go to for info think it was called 'inciid' - think it's an american site though!
Good luck

Thanks donna,
i've already got the consultant appointments, and they keep telling me to take the pill to regulate my periods, though i dont want to do this due to the extensive artificial hormones in them, an the increased risk taking them involve. i am interested however in regulating my period through homeopathic remedies. which ones worked for you, can you remember the name at all? i have found the site you mentioned and am intrigued by its contents so, thank you

Hi Nigella
cant really remember the names of the homeopathic remedies that I took, I think there were 3 in all (coritsone - cortico or something like that) but it's better that you see a proper homeopath as they look at you as a whole not just the one symptom, I used to get quite down/nervous - but felt that the homeopathic medicine helped too.
good luck
