Hope this helps- Gloucester Massachusetts, pronounced Glahsta The city is the largest centre on Cape Ann, .
The site of Massachusetts first settlement. The settlement was founded by a group of seafaring bruisers known as the Dorchester Company from Dorchester England in 1623. Moby Dick even references Gloucester and the badass Gloucestermen who have owned the high seas for generations.

Thank you Fits the bill exactly when the term was used in the film.
Sorry to be late - only just joined! Been there! Seen it!..... Gloucester is a fishing port north of Boston Mass. It was the home port of the fishermen in the film. The film is based on actual events which is why there was no Hollywood contrived 'happy ending'. The sad part is that due to overfishing in the past the once rich port is now a centre of unemployment which, I guess,is why the men felt driven to take the risks they did to catch fish.
There is also, if I remember correctly, a monument on the beach adjacent to the harbour commemorating the first air sea rescue.
