ps3 ethernet cable

Now please dont laugh.I ve just got a ps3. Is it worth plugging in the ethernet cable into it from my broadband router? Will it enhance it?

You'll have to at some point, they do software updates which you'll need to keep the system working properly. Also you can access the playstation store for demos and game add ons and of course multiplayer. Do you have wi-fi? if so you can connect thru that, although some say that downloads are quicker by cable. What games are you thinking about?

if its not a bad/messy cable run I'd prefer a cabled connection between PS3 and router over a wifi connection purely based on reliability and speed.
