Black Ops Story mode question

A bit stuck on this;

The level set in Vietnam; the objective is to defend your position. The mission begins running through a trench. At the end you have to take out 3 tanks with a LAW missile launcher.

After that droves after droves of enemies continually run over the hills and attempt to overun the trenches. This carried on for about 15 minutes until I got bored and switched off.

How do you complete this? All the objective said was 'Defend your position' and gave the name of the village.

I got as far as a mounted gun post - didnt seem like you could get any further?

If it sthe one i think it might be, you need to run down the hill to two barrels. These are explosive. When you get there you have the chance to set them alight and roll then down the hill. This takes out most of the enemies and allows the game to move to the next step.
