Tiles coming away from wall?
9 Answers
A couple of the tiles in our shower are coming away from the wall. They are both still connected at the sides to the surrounding tiles but have come away at the top and bottom. Is there anything I could put in behind them to stick the tiles back onto the wall?

Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do into a 2mm? grout gap,you could possibly clear any grout remaining on the top and bottom only, then inject with a very fine nozzle some water proof silicon seal put as much as you can into the top, until it come out the side of the nozzle then when dry trim surplus off and leave as grout, try to leave the bottom so that the plaster that has been acting like a sponge ,will dry out hopefully, then do the bottom as the top, a hair drier may aid this process.HTH Tez
tiles often come away from walls because the wall has shrunk imperceptibly or the grout has expanded owing to recrysallisation caused by frequent wetting over many years. This results in insufficient room for the tiles so they have no option but to find room away from the wall. You will have to remove the loose tiles and refix them.
