MM LINKS JUNE 2011 Week 4

This is “King Cliffyg”
This Sunday, again weather permitting, I am heading for deepest Sussex (Blackstone) with the Essex Under 14 cricket team. I am keeping to a sporting theme yet again as sport has been a major part of my life. I have enjoyed participating in cricket, football, tennis, squash and latterly golf, plus umpiring scoring coaching and refereeing. My wife has had to put up with three male sportsmen in the family for 40 years and knows more about cricket than most men and the majority of umpires.
For this, my final week I have relied on inspiration from Jess – she is nothing if not dogged.
I have enjoyed setting again, good luck to all, but especially;
DeeCee you have very limited knowledge of this week’s topic
Middlestump I love the avatar.
Pauline hope all was ok at the vets read on before you submit.
For those of you still in the dark and struggling for inspiration over the problem of what to select don’t get that sinking feeling the links are not too testing this week so hopefully there will be lots of points scoring

Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!
Each of the selected link words may go in front or behind my challenge word! The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when crofter will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. My set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am.

About 12 years ago, Cliffy, I could have been your umpiring colleague. I was standing in Sussex youth games around then. I had the privilege of doing one game at The Oval. I did a game at Steyning, Sussex, against Essex U15s I think, when, if memory serves, Ravi Bopara played. Has he got a brother? I hope you have the opportunity of progressing to county 2nd XI games and standing with first class umpires. It's a great experience.
