lump in throat, horrible taste in throat and mouth, what's wrong?
20 Answers
Have been to doctor this morning. Apparently my throat looks healthy, but he can't see further down where I feel there is something stuck. I have a horrible taste in my mouth and back of throat, it makes me feel sick - in fact I have been sick several times as it's as though something nasty is trickling down my throat into my stomach. Doctor has advised Gaviscon although I don't have symptoms of inigestion/heartburn and I have to go back for a blood test. He seemed to have no idea what was wrong and the test is a general blood count and to check iron levels.

THIS IS NOT SAID TO TERRIFY YOU but I just felt it worth mentioning, you might want to check if the doc has put kidney function in the blood tests.
Sqad, thank you for your advice, and the reassurance, much appreciated.
Painterman, can't think of anything I've eaten that could be stuck.
Hopefully it will clear up. Have to go back to doctor next week when blood test results are in and will mention the post nasal drip and the reflux thing.
thanks

sqad that's my biggest problem, and had endless medications that haven't worked, and wake every day, cough, splutter, i have never smoked, nose feels blocked and sometime swollen, its the acid that seeps up, that was what i was told by hospital doctor, i even suggested to the GP a hernia? i am frustrated at never getting to grips with it after over 25 years, I wish i could find some Homeopathic remedy that would help, anything in fact.
So sympathise with shoemad completely.

I know what it is as I also have suffered with this 'lump in throat' sensation, you mention you have been sick several times, the 'lump' is where your oesophagus has been damaged slightly by the acid in your vomit...it will heal quickly but i know it feels awful and you keep swallowing to ease it...
