Sorry if this has already been answered. I have searched AB but cannot find an answer to this. 6d. Merrily daft? Not a drunk seen round your old Welsh town. I have the answer MERTHYR TYDFIL. I got it because I know of the town and because it fitted the other letters. But why? Apart from Merth sounding like Mirth for merriment I just don't have a clue. Can someone put me out of my misery? And I don't mean with a humane killer.

It is an anagram of "merrily d(a)ft" - the not a bit and thy (your old)
