1a Matchstick
Sorry, this is not an answer, but another question. Matchstick was the only answer I could find; but how is Lucifer - matchstick, Lie-in King?
A match was known as a lucifer in the early part of the 20C (sorry I'm not LiIK)
Hi DY - a 'lucifer' (not capitalised) is an old word for a match - also called a 'lucifer-stick'
Hi boxy! Too quick for me... :-(
Thank you very much Boxtops and LiK. It would have bothered me all day!
