I was asked by a friend to crochet a Christening coat for her daughters baby.I have since been asked to do them for a few people which I have, but I haven't a clue what to charge. The wool cost £5.00 per 100 grams, and each coat took about 150 grams, this sounds expensive but it has a lovely sparkly thread running through it.Time wise it took maybe 5 hours.I don't want to over charge, but there again don't want to sell my self short.

Find out what a shop made one would be and add 20% or charge the minimum wage rate per hour no one should expect you to work for less than that
5hrs @ £6.00 per hour=£30 + materials= £37.50.
If you enjoy doing it, reduce your hourly rate.

Hi rowanwitch, with out sounding clever, there isn't any thing like it in the shops to compare it to.I thought about 25- 30 pounds so that would be about the same as you think.
