The railway depot that I used to work at is closing. The building is rather large, and very few rooms have been used since privatisation. in these rooms, there is quite a lot of paper receipts ects As I am led to believe, that these papers ect. will be burned. what I want to know, is there an organisation that can be contacted so that these papers ect. can be looked at to see if there is any thing worth saving for posterity .
Fingers crossed danny,

Grandfathered would it not be best to show up at the depot and ask the management there. I do kind of presume from your post though that you tried this one already.
There are many people who collect train related 'stuff'.

Here are some places that may help you -

http://www.railwayana.com/index.html

http://www.nrm.org.uk/

Good luck
Why didn't you help yourself to a lot of the stuff before leaving? I would contact them and ask for permission to save some of it.

If it aint nailed down...
