Cheers Mintyman!
Thanks again MM
Thanks mm for the weekly link.
Thanks for the link, Mintyman. All clues solved, no idea of the theme or unclued lights. Anyone have a hint to give?
Thanks MM - all played out quite nicely!
Germy - google your answers for 1, 13, 17, and 34
Sorry Germy - assumed wrongly - guess at the across unclued lights (not many choices) then google. They all connect with 32d musically
Stuck on last 3:
9d A??L?
22d R?T???#ER
39a ?V?N#
Can't see much of a connection between those unclued solutions I have managed to get.
Any help appreciated

See roslyn's post earlier
@ Crackabilly: I was lost until I googled 1, 13 & 17 together, then it all worked out quickly, tho' I know next to nothing of the theme!
Completely lost here despite the help. The music appears to be by Hayden not Faure and I have no clue as to the answers to 27d (?a?eine), 15d (d?min?)and 19d (?nno?i?e). Any help to allow me to finish this off would be much appreciated.
27d La Reine
19d In nomine
15d Domini
Thanks kayakamina. I had hoped you would come to my rescue. However could you explain this a bit. I presumed that 'the clock' and 'london' by Haydn would be the hidden thematic solutions but can't find them.
There are 2 other short names of animals hidden within the words in the grid: no need to read diagonally as I tried at first, they're very simple & you'll find them in the appropriate list if you google!
Thanks Maurice. I can't remember a more complictaed Specie! Glad that were 'lost and then were found'!
Strangely enough, for me it was the easiest I've ever done: I think I was lucky googling the right three I'd guessed near the beginning & discovering the connection! Certainly teaches you a lot, doesn't it? Till next Thursday!
Belated thanks Kayakamina!
I now have all the clued lights and what I believe to be the unclued ones.
My 33d is PAR IS, so the final step another two normal words that thematically could be represented by "Standard units" down-wise in the grid.
Have I understood this correctly?
As always, any help appreciated

Check 'Paris symphonies'
Thanks again Kayakamina.
All become clear now & finished
Just got up (here in Australia) and see that I have many helpful responses overnight - all solved now and many thanks to you all.
I am surprised that answers are giving so much direct help - unlike the Listener threads. All very friendly, kind and helpful
