Been struggling with this too.
(3d) Villianous main character (8 letters) I want to put Prospero but it doesnt fit in with old hand that 'ive put for (7a) Clue Experienced person.
I ALSO HAVENT GOT a clue what savage fiend is. Five letters , fourth letter T.(13a)
And Transmission of money (10 letters) 14 across.
This is worse than the Mail crossword!
