Stuck on the last three - two word clues which when put together sounds like a third word - see example below:
23) Restrain; made sound expressing sadness (4;6) third word has 8 letters
24) Covered inner surface; reply to question (5;6) third word has 6 letters
26) Cornish coastal town; money (slang) (4;5) third word has 4 letters
Example - Caper; Humerous (5;5) Antic; Witty = Antiquity Sequence of third words are in alphabetical order so 23 & 24 come between INC and LOC and 26 comes between LOC and MAD. Can anyone help please?
I think you may well be right with number 24, it fits the clues too well. The setter does not normally make many mistakes but I have known one or two so I think I will go with linedancer. Thank you for your help!
