8d - I have E?E???D. Looks like ELECTED, on the basis of an agent's boss being an MP. Is the reference to stuffed in respect of ballot papers? Doesn't quite seem to work
12a - I have E?? Looks like 'tiny little chap' could be ewt or eft - both meaning newt. But I don't see how we get there. Removing an 'a' to get to either of those answers doesn't give something that could be anagrammed into an insect.

I make 6a PESTO (PRESTO - R), giving the O for the start of 8d
