I no longer have a landline and if I fill in forms that request a number I give them my OH's :-)
I now put the phone number of my last address or 0121 666 6666 so long as there are numbers in the required fields they are usually happy
I hope no-one actually has 01234 567890 as a number ...

its a bloody nightmare, i'll have several of these throughout the day. We should see about getting rid of our landline really, we assume that because we have sky and internet that we need a landline. None of our friends actually call us on it!
I had loads yesterday...all from India, I believe they aren't covered by the TPS.
Dave the parrot had a great time chatting to them :0)

I've a landline but it's been ex-directory and automatically 'number withheld' for years. Hardly get any of these calls. Like ummmm, online OH's mobile gets it!

lol divegirl, maybe i should invest in a pet.....or a child, a small one lol
I assume you're TPS registered?
Question Author
what's TPS?
You can register with TPS and your number is 'suppose' to not appear on the database.
Telephone Preference Service

right just registered, thanks for link x
Worth registrering. Trouble is it doesn't work 100%. International cold callers are particularly unfazed.
I've had some 00000000 numbers calling.
As many as that !
I say 'hold on a min', turn the radio REALLY loud and leave the phone there for at least one song. Drives them mad and they cant clear the call either! Childish? Me? lol
I am registered with TPS however at approx 8.30pm last night i had 3 calls within 5 min. from different people claiming they could help with my PC problems.I wont repeat what i said to the 3rd caller.Damn them all.
TPS is well worth signing up to. We occasionally get unsolicited calls, but we generally just place the receiver down and carry on watching tv or whatever, and just let the caller witter on until they realise there's no one there.
I get the odd call now and then, but it really has cleared up the cold callers
Now I have them calling my mobile!
Last night Talk Talk called me, randomly dialled as they asked for the 'a/c holder' not by name. I replied this phone has no a/c as it's PAYG.
A list of replies and questions followed - I do love to wind them up
Afterwards I add them to my bocked calls list on my phone app programme - best 70 something pence I ever spent
I got some of these calls during the bank holiday.
I registered with the Telephone Preference Service and the number has reduced greatly but they are far from eliminated.
I had 9 in a day just before I registered with this service.
