The following may be superfluous to requirements or irrelevant to Windows users, but here's what I do with the attached puzzle on my Apple iMac:

1 Save the attachment (already a .pdf file) to the Desktop

2 Open the saved attachment with Preview

3 Use the Select tool to cut just the puzzle (i.e. exclude the rest of the page and the footer identifying Daniel)

4 Copy the selection to my Pages document holding puzzles previously received

5 Resize the puzzle to fill an A4 sheet

6 Print two copies, one to struggle with, the other to fill in neatly and post if I get that far!

I thought of 'biters', which I think can be 'cheats', but I don't see how it works with the rest of the clue. Thanks for any advice or info.
