7d - Handcuff gives couple obstruction (8) BRACELET

13a - Great brain - mine familiarly enjoyed acquiring bit of erudition (7) EGGHEAD

7d couple=brace...obstruction=let (tennis)
a couple/pair is a brace
7d - brace = pair, couple
Let = obstruction (as in "let or hindrance")
couple...brace+ let..obstruction. as in 'no let or hinderance.'

EGG+ HAD around E(rudition)
I can't see the wordplay yet for 13a

13a - Egg = "..mine familiarly" ??????? Still do not understand
Egg - everyone in the family was made from an egg....? tenuous, I know!
I think is intended to be a familiar name for the brain. Mine referring to to the setters brain.
mine = store = nest egg

13a - Put that down as a bad clue, perhaps? Unless anyone knows better. The BD telegraph blog is not up yet - must be watching the Olympics or something!
