I am approaching 50 and, in all that time, I have partaken of just one mouthful of the aforementioned vile beverage. It failed to remain in my mouth. I blame old-timer's disease.

Apologies, Duncer. The VP drinkers, and Drawbridge sippers, not to mention the QC swiggers, were all on a par with the Buckie addicts.
We ABers are a cut above all that.

I remember QC well Sandy, and all the Ballysillan guesses for it's true meaning, such as "Quick Convulsions", "Quietly Comatose" and several others that happened way too long ago. It was a pre-youth club favourite of many, as were Scothmac and Clandew, not that I let either pass my lips?

Scotsmac, wine with a cork from a whiskey bottle dipped into it. I don't remember that other one, Clandew.
