What does UNIE mean?

I have a computer background and know about Unix. But I would have never used it as an equivalent to "roomy" for data.

I too had issues with Unix as a "capacious system" from personal experience, but it does sort of match the Chambers definition, and I have to rely on that for every other word I DON'T know - so have to let it pass on that basis.
Also agree with above. This one felt more like hard work, and I got fewer than usual without resorting to Chambers.
