What on earth is 9 Down, please ?! Wise men sat- rest ran trendy legal office (14) I presume "trendy" is "hip" , so something-ship?? Plus also note tautological error in 11A - "Aggravate" does not mean "annoy" !!

I'm sure aggravate did at one time mean annoy (maybe Shakespeare) then its meaning changed to 'make worse' . Words mean whatever we make them mean

Thanks factor 30 - you appear to be the new rising star on this site, I perceive. Sadly my shakespeare days are long gone, but I always remember being berated at school for mixing up aggravate and irritate !
If you don't think aggravate can mean annoy I'd love to know which dictionary you're using. Chambers certainly (and obviously) gives it.
