Apelike or not!!! Yes he is a splendid man. He does the Mail and the Telegraph c'words everyday and sends them to the papers to try and win a prize.

^Yes, the last word of the clue should read anthropoid which means apelike and not arthropod which is an invertebrate animal with an exoskeleton and jointed limbs.
Just to clear things up, this is from the Mail today and the clue says anthropoid.
