Sorry to but in but can someone tell me how tenency = current or curring
Sorry, meant tendency =
Tendency = the general course or drift of something.
Current = General trend or drift
tendency = trendy = current
Thanks Mallyh but not in any of my dictionaries.
Trendy = Current; OK.
Tendency = Trendy; Never!

Still that's the way of the world; any word can mean anything these days.
I suppose I'm a dinosaur but perhaps you can help me with the logic behind:

14d. The foreign politicians head off for domestic cover = Lampshade.
&
6a. Allowing access to make gin? No luck = Uncorking

I see 'Lampshade' as "a domestic cover" & 'Uncorking as "allowing access" by reverse engineering but the logic of the rest of the clue is beyond me
6a Unlocking is anagram of "gin? No luck"
La = french the (foreign)
MPs = politicians
Anagram (off) of head = hade
Thank you bottleopener & chelle7272

Mea Culpa!

Wrong answer for 6a and I should have seen the logic in 14d
