All female, although that spelling of Sidney does seem more masculine; however, the name seems contemporarily popular with females than males so I may be more inclined to think it female.

I know a male 'Stef' short for Stefan but never seen a male called 'Steph'.

Is there going to be an M. Night Shyamalan style twist at the end where the loveable, trustworthy protagonist (who you've presumed male all along) is revealed to be a woman?! (and possibly also dead)
