Tame would fit quiet and river - don't really understand the "crossed by ....line" bit. Something to do with railways?

Tame seems okay as adouble meaning.
As for the rest of the clue, I think there is a Tame Valley rail line -maybe it's to do with that. I'm not sure whether the clue is set out exactly as printed
