7a....tangle duplicated in middle of scenery...?N?W?N?
Is this ENTWINE or INTWINE as both are correct according to my dictionary.

Also..10d...Get rid of of long skating manoeuvre...A?E?
I am thinking APEX but can't really say why.

entwine
axel
axel is a type of skating spin
Duplicated = TWIN
Middle of scenery =ENE

Entwine
7a) duplicated = TWIN, middle of scENEry = ENE => EN twin E

10d) get rid of = AXE, long = L
The middle of 'scenery' is ENE, so I'd put that with 'twin' for Entwine.
An Axel is an ice-skating term - get rid of the 'l'/long and you have axe.

Goodness....you guys are quick...many thanks ( should have got AXEL as I used to be big fan of figure skating. I remember staying up very, very late in 1980 to watch Robin Cousins win his Olympic Gold medal ! )
