I feel this is an extraordinary feat, especially constructing clues which are valid cryptic clues AND provide all of the thematic hints; the end result is a thing of beauty.

On the other hand, I doubt 16 clues (many of which are relatively easy) is going to be enough to satisfy the Listener addicts.

I do cringe whenever I see the word 'line' (mis)used in the instructions; I realize Chambers supports the use of line=curve, but the mathematician in me knows a line is straight.

I had to have that formula explained to me jim360 by the other half who thought I was in the dummy class for not knowing and instantly applying it. Difficult to see, though, how it could ever be of much practical use in life.

Congratulations Jim a very exciting contest, though must say I got to 500,500 a second or so before you. The sort of things we work out in our heads at night when we cannot sleep (or maybe it is just me ?) !

Well it was a team effort to be sure - and while I grabbed 4 of the last 7 starters(just saying...) One each from Ace and Gallant were as vital - and in the first half of the show I was doing pretty rubbish to be honest. Fancy not saying Genetics when there wasn't even a penalty for guessing it!. Anyway moving on...

There's a short break to transmission over Christmas, it looks like, so I'll next be badgering you all about this in February I think.
