Shooty had me puzzled - 'hostel' was perfect. Have settled on 'fescue' for 13 Across. Many thanks to all helpers.

For 13 across I have Fescue F (following) escue (Rescue without the R = rescue bid)
Bad explaining but hope it makes sense!

My turn to need help!
I'm basically filled in and have the shape. But, there's always a but! I've no idea about " change eight cells to corresponding new colours" I've got all the longer words except 50 & 53 across, but I just don't know what to do! (I was hoping that 25 across would give me gold, but it didn't!!)

Re 25 - you were correct with 'gold', but no need to write it in, just 'change it to corresponding colour'. The same goes for 29D, 39 D...
