5D. With India's tail in, get slips to ring man at wicket (10) ?A?E?E?P?R. Again, I'm thinking GATEKEEPER but don't see why.
24D. ...just a little tailless fish (4) ??A?

India's tail is the letter A. Putting that A in gives GATE

5d) GATEKEEPER [= man at wicket, another term for the wicketkeeper in cricket

with india's tail in = put A inside...
get slips = GTE, the anagram in this instance
ring = KEEPER
