Slightly miffed as I cancelled an event tonight as this huge band of snow was supposed to be crossing from West to East of central UK reaching East Midlands 7pm. Where is it? Not a flake in sight!
We have it in Yorkshire Ann, it's been snowing on and off all day. My daughter and g/daughter were supposed to be here yesterday but the forecast put them off, they didn't want to be stranded up here as they have a party on Sunday. We still have a lot of snow but the main roads are clear, the paths are deadly now the new snow is covering it up.
A few faffy bits midday ish then I went for a doze mid afternoon (had steroid injections in my hips earlier, not being a lazy cow haha :)) and woke up to a light covering.
It's still snowing a bit but sounds like it's more trying to turn to heavier rain.
Last Friday our local newspaper's headline (here in Suffolk), referring to the snow which was forecast, was "This is the big one". We didn't get a single flake.
Last Monday we were meant to be all stuck in several feet of snow. We got barely enough for kids to make a snowman.
Last night, driving back from Horsham, all of the motorway matrix signs were showing "Severe weather forecast tomorrow". Not a flake!
Here in Southern Ontario we've had about an inch in less than an hour, and it looks like it's not going to stop soonly. Visibility quite limited, and it's just in time for the afternoon rush-hour! Do you think that this will deter me from skipping across the field to the bar? Snow way!...Cheers.
