back of precious = s; metal - tin; lag =cover, as in lagging water pipes.

I think it's a misprint - should read "back", i.e. reversed

on reflection - flipping = turning over, reversing; bank could well be nest egg. I'm getting muddled!

If it is nest egg, it seems a little clumsy for this setter. Hang on - egg.com is a bank!
