21a...Flying man's wife or boss sent back by hunter ( ORION is the A grid )

Also 3d...Heroine that's disposed of inside country where artist and volunteers leave opera. ( LATVIA is the A grid )

I think it might be IRISH but I'm not sure why. Thanks for ISOLDE, my favourite Wagner, so no excuse for not getting it.

Hi we finished it but didn't understand 2 clues:
We got 21a but can't parse it. Orion is hunter but why is or boss sent back by? Or + ?
And we also got 7 down (B) = Diable but don't understand it. Diable is casserole but why 'that can be 60% put right'?
