I answered this before as HMS Warrior (which is in Northwood)
there are a few other HMS buildings too

Thank you grasscarp, I'm grateful for your suggestion. The quiz is of 100 questions of which this is the last one I have still to solve. Other answers are all Really Famous buildings such as The Eiffel Tower, The Pyramids, The Empire State Building, Nelson's Column, Sydney Opera House and the like. I hardly think that HMS Warrior is anywhwere near in that league n'est-ce-pas? If you google it, see what you find.

Thank you mallyh but HMS Raleigh is just a RN shore establishment. The answer I'm looking for is a FAMOUS BUILDING. See my comments to grasscarp above.
Correct me if I am wrong wasn't the original question symbol of naval power?
Morning Vimto... I believe that any of the docked ships are classed as Buildings.. I've seen HMS something in another famous building quiz.. I personally can't see it being anything other than HMS Something

Definition

build·ing .
1. Something that is built, as for human habitation; a structure.
it could be HMS supreme going by your logic mazie
Question Author
Hello vakayu, yes, you are correct. I left it out today to promote thinking outside the "HMS" box. The tag of "symbol of naval power could and probaby does indicate HMS as you say mazie. If it does, then I feel HMS Victory is favourite although it is a ship. It's simply that I'm not entirely comfortable with it and was, maybe, hoping for an alternative to consider. As I've indicated earlier, all the answers are immediately recognisable as FAMOUS which rules out almost all shore stations and HMS Victory would be the only candidate falling into the "famous" bracket.
