I am a member of an online group called Unlock Democracy which organises e-petitions to send to Downing St on various subjects.
They have been campaigning for a complete register of lobbyists and given the recent stories of corruption in the news I believe that this will be an important step towards preventing big business having undue influence on government decision making.

If you feel the same I would urge you to sign their petition. There is no cost apart from the occasional e-mail when a new petition starts.

The following is taken from their website.
The government committed itself to introducing a statutory register of lobbyists and recall in its coalition agreement in May 2010 - and repeated this commitment in its “mid term review” in January 2013.
It published green papers (consultations) on both topics in 2012 but both were badly received. It has done nothing on either area since.
Having a lobbying register was one of the recommendations made by the Leveson report.
