For those of you, like us, who are interested in seeing the great Vulcan in the skies, there is an announcement that instead of finishing flying displays forever at the end of this year, it will now continue until 2015. :0)

Great stuff Ann, I'd love to see one.
That is good news, it is a stunning sight in the air.

Have you never seen it flyng Tony? It flew over here (East Mids/Rutland border) only last week ..... we often see them right over our garden, must be the flight path. A majestic sight!
No Ann, don't think that I have, wish it would have a go over the West Mids.

Great vid Ann, what a plane.
I saw one of these at a air display in Cornwall a few years ago. One of the greatest sights I have ever seen. They must have scared the sh1t out of the enemy just by the tremendous noise they made, let alone the bombing capacity.
I had the great pleasure of guarding one when I was in the RAF back in the 70s - one of the few times I was issued with live ammo outside of the ranges
It flew over my house last Saturday, I live in Lincoln
I belong to the Vulcan club, we help to keep the plane flying by donating money ourselves and raising funds. The plane will only keep flying providing there is enough money to do so and unfortunately it takes a lot. There is no help from the government and whereas the Battle of Britain memorial flight [ Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane etc] is maintained by the RAF the Vulcan Bomber isn't. This is something I don't personally understand as, to use their own words" The BBMF commemorates the past of the RAF's air combat power", surely the Vulcan is part of that tradition. However, at the moment we have to rely on the good natured public who have, I must admit have been magnificent.
