Is it just me, or does anyone else find the idea of these new 72 hour deoderents repulsive.
I take it that they are to keep you 'fresh' for three days without washing.
Maybe they would have had a place back in the days when bath night was once a week, but not these days when everybody has a bathroom and access to a bath or shower surely.
What do you think?
Would you use them and not bother washing for three days?

If you combined them with these you'd hardly ever need soap.

I use them but not because I'm a soap dodger.

It's not just your arm pits that need cleaning daily.
I don't think they are telling you not to shower for 3 days. I think they are just trying to big-up their product. I would use them like I use any other deoderant and I would still shower daily.
I don't think you are obliged to remain unwashed for 72 hours.....

But, if they keep you 'fresh' for 3 days, is there any point in washing?

Do you use m and still have a wash every day ummm,
Or do you leave it on for three days then have a wash?

I can see they have their uses though, festival goers, backpackers etc?
There is a body of opinion that too much washing with soap or other cleaning agents such as shower gel is detrimental to health as it destroys 'friendly' bacteria along with the pongmakers.

Yes prudie, I never thought about it that way,
SIL is a truck driver, I suppose he would be better with something that lasts longer for his overnight or two day trips. X
Yes I wash everyday and I wouldn't be tempted not to just because my deodorant says it lasts 72 hours.

No Kosmos, I wasn't implying that,
Its just that these days you expect people to have access to a bathroom to wash as and when you want, and I couldn't see the need for a 72 hour deoderent.
Not like my grandparents days when the outside loo was shared with the rest of the street, and no bathroom in the house.
When I was little we were not allowed in the kitchen on friday night for an hour or two whilst my grandad had a bath,
I passed a man in the village a few days ago that could have done with it, he obviously has no idea what a wash, bath or shower is and the smell of him made me heave.
