The answer would appear to be "Philistia" but can anyone relate it to the clue or advise otherwise

Goliath was a Philistine soldier, so I assume it is that truncated with A for apostle.

Thankyou for your help

I am not convinced and have not seen apostle abbreviated to a
apostle nearly phili(p) + stia (saint)
Definition Goliath;'s place - Philista
Apostle nearly=PHILI(p)
Obscure unnamed saint = STIA - anagram of saint without N(ame)

Thank you both and especially Slaney's explanation. I often feel that knowing what the answer is only half the battle I would not have seen unnamed saint as sait !
