It seems my two remaining blanks (Everyman 3483) must have been obvious to everyone else......
Can anyone help out with 21 across, 'Mother, foolish on refection' - - M. I suppose this has to be 'Mum' but I don't see why.
Also 21 down, 'Doctor behind plan'. I have - - A - T or possibly M - A - T. Again if possible please not just the answer (plant? meant? chart?) but, if it's not going to be instantly clear, why?

Draft...yes, I'd even put that in the question!!! And now I've learned that 'dam' is not just something blocking a flow of water or a shortened version of 'dame' but means the mother of a four-footed animal (which on kennel club records is still dame!)
