I've tried the scots-English on line dictionary to no avail, and Googled it as well, with the same result.

Envying
1.verb - be envious of; set one's heart on
2. feel envious towards; admire enviously

It's all the X-word solver gives
Same here Duncer it does not seem to exist must be a very obscure scottish word although haeing an ee til does suggest envying,so as I said I am going with that.

My 3rd letter is v slaney from Davidson I think Duncer had a typo?
Ahh I see, thanks. I suppose "having your eye in at" could well be envying.
