I found this to be much more straightforward than last week and have finished all of it, including the changes and highlighting. I have one little niggle, though - are we left with real words after the highlighting? I now have one Down word which doesn't appear in Chambers. Thanks for any enlightenment.

PS. I realise this post will make no sense to anyone who has not done this puzzle.

Hi there. Just at the same stage though I haven't sorted out all the misprints - not that it counts!

Re the one word you refer to - there is nothing in the preamble to say that all words are real so what you/I have must be right. Highlighting is fairly obvious I think?

Thanks. The highlighting did seem obvious, so I think my 'word' is ok.
I finished the puzzle, but wouldn't really call end result an epitaph. Am I missing something.
Also, I am still a few letters short of the two-word phrase - though I am pretty certain what it is.
There are a few clues I just don't get. Including 15 and 18A, and 18 13 and 19D.
Boreas

I think 15a is STROKE (= pulse) less R (receipts = "take") and O (oil originally), with extra O, ignored in the wordplay.
18a provides the first letters of the two word phrase (replace the c in clue). Been mulling over 13D and 19D but don't have access to Chambers or equivalent so not deciphered those, although clear that "nut" in 13D should be "out".

Don't think you;re missing anything...epitaph something to do with how the character met his end ?
Many thanks Gregsdad, I get those clues now.
But if I make the correction in 18A I get a phrase beginning with
BC or CB.
???????

My phrase was B...C...
Hi Never,

My phrase is
B**** T****
which describes A O and B
Oh, I see now.
The second word is the character's title, yes?
Yes, that's right.
I too cannot see how the highlighting can be described as an "epitaph" ~ assuming I've highlighted correctly (two words).
Yes Rabet, two words that 'finish' the character.
I have finally parsed 19D

Chambers gives a definition of the word formed by first 4 letters as "extremely fashionable".
Thanks boreas, I hadn't noticed the significance of "finish".
