Oh dear the Daily Mail has certainly upset the Left, and out they have come, the Unions, even the Children, and of course so as not to miss a good protest the Muslims.

Seems as though the DM has scored a direct hit - disgusting taking children on a hate march carrying hate banners - talk about hate and racism bred from the cradle - the parents ought to be ashamed of themselves. Waiting to read what evidence DM turns up supporting their claim.
It is ironic though that the paper which so self-righteously accused a particular person of hating Britain should have no shortage of things that it also seems to hate about the country.
If Ralph Miliband 'hated Britain' then so does the Daily Mail. The fact is er all have things we don't like about Britain and things we do like. It's called perspective and opinion.
As far as these protests are concerned they're probably a waste of time but I guess there's only so much anyone can take of this endless assault without at least making some sort of token response
I particularly like the turd on the Daily Mail Masthead. - Very apt.
Talking of turd gromit found this definition of PC, know you will not like it but here goes - "Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
Has the Mail not reported this ?
And posted in the wrong thread! Try again, Puli.

I hadn't realised that asking the Mail to aplogise for trouncing the reputation of a dead man, was being PC. And that the PC Brigade are being illogical etc.

Now it all makes sense.
^ This is rather what I mean when I say that "poltical correctness" doesn't exist. It just ends up being used by people (usually on the right) to complain about something which on further investigation invariably turns out to be nonexistent, massively overblown or actually kind of reasonable.
^^ what ??

/// I hadn't realised that asking the Mail to aplogise for trouncing the reputation of a dead man, was being PC. ///

The Mail have already apologised, I am now waiting with bated breath for some to apologise to the family of the late Lady Thatcher.
/for some to apologise to the family of the late Lady Thatcher/

completely different behaviour and irrelevant to the deliberate lies about Ralph Milliband

isn't it pathetic the way the usual apologists try to deflect rightful criticism by changing the subject?

Fortunately, most people have the decency to see how appallingly the Daily Fail let themselves down- and let down the Conservatives in Conference week
Why, AOG? Did the Mail or any other paper say that Mrs Thatcher hated the country she was living in ? Or make the innuendo that her family were bred to be against it too?

Mrs Thatcher was criticised by some for what she did, not for a belief that this country was to be hated.
"what ??"

I don't think that "PC" actually exists - I think it's closer to a conspiracy theory. The reason I think this is because whenever people cry out about "PC" it usually turns out to be untrue, overblown or motivated by party politics.
"The Mail have already apologised"

No they haven't. They've apologised for infiltrating a private memorial service for no good reason. They have not apologised for their original smear.
AOG

You're still labouring under the false impression that this is a left vs. right issue.

Did you check the link I sent you the other day?

The Mail's own readership are disgusted by this story. I counted the top forty responses and every single one slated the Mail for publishing the original piece.

In answer to your question, yes they certainly have stired [sic] the hornet's nest, but a lot of the hornets are Daily Mail readers.

"The Mail have already apologised, I am now waiting with bated breath for some to apologise to the family of the late Lady Thatcher."

Who exactly?

The people who bought 'Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead'?

Or people who critiqued her legacy?

Or the people who held parties to celebrate her passing?

Two of these actions, were childish and pretty sad - but none of these people hired a couple of pages in a national paper to perform a character assassination.

Let's be frank...the Daily Mail published a story claiming that a left wing academic hated Britain.

They also infiltrated a private memorial to rake up some more dirt.

I think a lot of people who may have been ambivalent of the Daily Mail, may be coming to the realisation that it is turd, but in paper format.

What do you mean the Mail's own readership are disgusted by this story?????????????

Are you naive to believe that it is only people from the right who read the Daily Mail web site, take yourself you regularly post a Daily Mail link, so what's stopping other left minded persons posting their views, on the Daily Mail website?
/What do you mean the Mail's own readership are disgusted by this story????????????? /

aog

Are you seriously suggesting they're not?

Any decent person would be disgusted by hacks deliberately trying to mislead their readership by telling lies and spinning stories about a dead person. Our Prime Minister said so and I expect he occasionally flicks through the rag.

Even I think that the Daily Mail readership includes a lot of decent people

Don't you?
I'm going to enter aog into next year's Grand National
